Alpine Baby Sitting (ABS) strives to provide the highest Quality Care for children and families. To ensure the best possible care is provided, Alpine Baby Sitting has set the following terms and conditions for families and sitters.
Before booking:
We ask that you disclose as much information relating to your child or children as possible to help us allocate the appropriate skilled baby sitter or nanny to meet your children’s individual needs.
To prevent putting baby sitters or nannies into difficult situations, we ask families using Alpine Baby Sitting to ensure that their children are:
Fit and healthy
Free of any communicable diseases, illnesses or viruses;
That any medical conditions, allergies or behavioral issues are informed directly to ABS prior to booking.
Please ensure that you are contactable at all times when using ABS. This information needs to be provided directly to your sitter prior to leaving:
Mobile telephone numbers of both parents;
The location of where you are going ie. Restaurant, Bar, friends accommodation.
Be prepared:
Your baby sitter or nanny will contact you within 24 hours of your requested booking; this is the opportunity for you both to touch base and form a relationship;
Prepare and provide any food that you wish your children to eat while you are away;
Confirm any “rules” that you may have ie. No sugar treats before bed;
Ensure any bottles are prepared ready for the baby sitter or nanny to heat and confirm the procedure that you wish the baby sitter or nanny to follow ie. 30 seconds in microwave/sit 10 minutes in boiling water;
Ensure any medication is available and ready for use by the baby sitter or nanny;
Allow plenty of time to provide and receive hand over information with the baby sitter or nanny;
Before the baby sitter or nanny leaves upon your return, check on all children in the presence of the baby sitter or nanny. This provides you with the opportunity to ask any relevant questions ie. Did he finish his bottle; what time did he go to sleep; etc.
Hand Over Information
To ensure the highest quality care can be provide by the Alpine Baby Sitters or Nannies, we ask that the following information be provided prior to leaving your child or children:
Provide the names and ages of all children upon booking;
Provide a brief overview of each child’s individual personalities or specific needs;
Provided details regarding comfort items for each child: Dummy, Blanket and Bottle;
Confirm allergies/specific needs/medication and provide relevant form/s;
Confirm the children’s routines ie. Brush teeth before bed;
Confirm settling strategies and behavior guidance strategies for the baby sitter or nanny to follow;
Provide the baby sitter or nanny with a comprehensive tour of your accommodation including all exits, children’s rooms, bathrooms, stairwells, telephone, potential hazards (balcony, spas), etc;
Provide a brief overview of the evacuation procedure of your accommodation;
Check that both you and your baby sitter or nanny has mobile phone reception;
Confirm the time that you will be home with your allocated baby sitter or nanny and make arrangements to call if you require “over time”;
Remember to provide the baby sitter or nanny with a key or code to your accommodation.
Emergency Procedure:
In the event of an emergency, your baby sitter or nanny will call an ambulance. It is the responsibility of the parents to arrange ambulance cover for the child/children;
If a child becomes unconscious, not responding, not breathing, bleeding excessively or obviously requires urgent medical attention, your baby sitter or nanny will

Call ABS, ABS will call you.
Attend to the child’s emergency situation as best possible
Ensure the safety of other children while attending to the emergency situation
Where possible ask for assistance from bystanders.
Medication:
For any medication (pharmacy, prescription, naturopathic) please complete a medication form provided by your baby sitter or nanny;
Check the following before supplying the medication:
The name of the medication complies with the child (same name);
The medication is within its use by date;
The recommended dose on the bottle complies with the medication form;
The recommended age complies with the child;
Ensure there are the appropriate tools for your baby sitter or nanny to accurately measure medication;
Complete the medication form and sign before departing;
Ensure you read the medication form and signed it again before your baby sitter or nanny departs.
Accidents/Illnesses/Incidents
In the case of an accident/illness/incident your baby sitter or nanny will implement first aid and continue to monitor the child until you return;
The baby sitter or nanny will record any accidents/illnesses/incidents on an Incident Form;
If the child’s health or wellbeing is at risk (ie high temperature), you will be contacted immediately;
If the child’s health or wellbeing is at risk (ie high temperature), we ask that you or a nominated person returns to your child or children immediately from being contacted;
Ensure you read the accident/illness/incident form and sign it before your baby sitter or nanny departs.
BOOKING PROCEDURES

2 You can confirm your booking either by telephone or email:
Telephone: Simply contact ABS to confirm your booking request details, then make payment arrangements via cash or credit card;
We do not take payments online as there are too many options and we feel providing a personal service via phone and email enhances customer experience.
3 Cash: Cash payment arrangements can be made directly to ABS either prior to, or on the day of your booking request. Payment must be completed upfront (apart from any possible extensions, which must be settled prior to our Sitter leaving)
4 ABS will confirm your booking either via telephone or email as soon as payment has been received.
5 Your baby sitter or nanny will contact you to “touch base” and to “fine tune” details 24 hours prior to your booking.
Our Booking Policy
Alpine Baby Sitting works as an agency, linking parents with qualified baby sitters and nannies, for daytime and evening requirements year round;
Bookings must provide comprehensive details of all children including the children of additional families requiring care by Alpine Baby Sitting;
Bookings need to be pre-arranged so the appropriate sitter can be allocated to provide the highest quality care;
Advanced bookings must be paid in full at least 48 hours prior to the start time of the baby sitting request, or immediately upon booking;
Last minute bookings must be paid in cash prior to the commencement of the booking;
On booking with Alpine Baby Sitting, you are accepting our terms and conditions;
The sitter will produce an invoice to be signed by both the sitter and family at the end of the booking request;
Day time “over time” must be confirmed directly with ABS and not the sitter, to confirm availability;
Night time “over time” must be confirmed directly with the sitter at least half an hour before to extension;
Consecutive day bookings must be made directly with Alpine Baby Sitting, not with the sitter or nanny, to prevent “double” booking occurring.
Cancellations
Alpine Baby Sitting must be notified asap of a cancellation via telephone directly to ABS;
An application for refund can be made in line with the following conditions:
Cancellations made on the day of booking will not be refunded;
Cancellations made prior to 24 hours of the booking will incur a loss of 50% of the paid booking;
Cancellations made prior to 48 hours of the booking will incur a loss of $30.00;
Alpine Baby Sitting will not “roll over” pre-paid bookings due to cancellation.
PRIVACY
We respect the privacy of your personal information.
Privacy Act 1988
Alpine Baby Sitting is covered by the Privacy Act 1988, which came into operation on 21 December 2001.
In accordance with our obligations under the Privacy Act, this document advises you of the manner in which personal information collected via this web site is handled by Alpine Baby Sitting.
Information collected
When you browse the Alpine Baby Sitting site, our Internet Service Provider makes a record of your visit and logs the following information for statistical purposes:

your top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc)

Alpine Baby Sitting will only record the information you provide via the Booking Page and the Contact Us page, and/or your email address if you send us a message. This information will only be used or disclosed for the purpose for which you have provided it. It will also be included on our mailing list for future information (you can request removal at any time). No other information will be disclosed for any other purpose without your consent.
