Q.What happens if I’ve booked for 3 hours but want to extend during daytime hours?
A. Contact ABS directly, and arrange for “Over Time”. Over Time payments can be made directly with the sitter at the end of the booking with cash; please have the exact amount prepared for before they leave your holiday home.
Q.What happens if I’ve booked for 3 hours but want to extend during night-time hours?
A.Contact your sitter directly, and arrange for “Over Time”. Over Time payments can be made directly with the sitter at the end of the booking with cash; please have the exact amount prepared for before they leave your holiday home.
Q.I would like a nanny for the morning, but might be a bit late back from my ski lesson. As the children are older, I am happy for them to take care of themselves until I return.
A.Under no circumstances will Alpine Baby Sitting authorise any child under 12 years old to be left un-attended or to be left in the hands of older teenage children. Our policy includes a hand over period between sitter/nanny and parent at the start and end of assignment. As this is your holiday and time of relaxation, why not take advantage of our service and take plenty of time during your leisure activities.
Q.My child has come down with a fever and our sitter is due any minute. I’ve given her some Panadol and she’s sleeping soundly so she should be ok.
A.We ask that you let us know prior to your booking commencing so that we can inform your allocated baby sitter or nanny. We would prefer not to put our baby sitters and nannies at risk of becoming ill, so a cancellation may be imminent > Please refer to our Cancellation Policy.
Q.Is it cheaper if I only have one child?
A.Alpine Baby Sitting has set “family” rates to meet the needs of “families” with one or three children, so the rate is the same per family.
Q.I am visiting Hotham/DP with a group of friends and we have 3 children under 5yrs, and 2 older teenage children that don’t require care. Can I have a sitter for just the 3 small children?
A.As the children will be in the care of the baby sitter or nanny, we require written authorisation 48 hours prior to your booking request. Using the children’s full names, declare that Alpine Baby Sitting and Alpine Baby Sitting representatives are not responsible for the teenage children. You will then only be charged for 3 children.
Q.I noticed that I have to book for three hours but we only want two hours?
A.In our experience, most people require at least three hours for a dinner engagement or to use the Onsen Retreat and Spa. By the time you “hand over” hand over with your sitter or nanny, travel to and from your designated venue, etc.; you’d be surprised how quickly the time goes.
Q.We are not sure how many hours to book?
A.In this case we suggest that you book the hours that you know you will need, and then arrange with your baby sitter or nanny to extend if required. Please refer to our Booking Policy “over time”.
Q.My child has Special Needs. Can Alpine Baby Sitting cater for this?
A.Yes! (subject to availability) Alpine Baby Sitting has a pool of sitters and nannies with a wide range of skill level to meet the needs of your children. We ask that you provide details regarding medical conditions, specific needs, allergies and behavioural challenges upon booking. This way we can allocate you the “right” sitter or nanny.
Q.My child has Sorbolene cream applied to his body each night. Do I need to fill out a medication form for this?
A.Yes! Any liquid, cream, lotion or medication that you require your baby sitter or nanny to apply or administer will require you to complete a Medication Form; This provides clear instruction. Please refer to our Medication Policy.
